DJ Akademiks reveals Top 5's post-surgery status after stabbing at Wireless Festival weekend

Toronto rapper Top5 was reportedly stabbed while in the United Kingdom for Drake's Wireless Festival show. DJ Akademiks talked about the attack in a new Instagram Live chat.

Top5 has now had surgery for his injuries and is on the road to recovery. The Canadian rapper, who's often in the spotlight for both his legal troubles and outspoken online presence as much as his music, had traveled to the UK to catch Drake’s major festival performance. However, the trip took a bad turn not long after he arrived.

Akademiks, who is known for keeping his followers updated on all things hip-hop, assured his audience that Top5 is expected to pull through. Still, the exact details of how the fight started remain unclear.

For now, both supporters and skeptics alike are paying close attention to see what this latest incident could mean for Top5's already unstable career. Many wonder if this will add more trouble or push him to change direction, but all eyes are on what happens next.

DJ Akademiks opens up on Top5's close call

DJ Akademiks recently spoke about Top5's tough spot, getting real about the deep trouble he was in. He said the rapper had a big cut so deep that it made him lose a lot of blood, making a fast surgery a must. Even though the cut was scary big, like 17 inches, docs think Top5 will heal up all the way.

But, it will take time. Akademiks was plain about how bad it was, making it clear that the person who did it wanted to kill Top5 for sure. In his words:

"Top5 is good. He has like a big laceration. It was kinda deep. He lost a lot of blood. He went through the surgery and he's gonna have a full recovery. It's gonna take a little while, but yeah. I think he said it's like 17 inches. I ain't gonna lie to you. For what it's worth, somebody definitely tried to kill him."

Akademiks shuts down fake clips and rumors about attack

To set things right, he strongly spoke out against the mix of rumors and misleading videos spreading across the internet, making it clear that a lot of it was made up or twisted. He denied the viral video that some said showed Top5, stating it wasn't him at all.

From what he told, Top5 was at an afterparty spot that evening and thought he might have been tracked. As he entered the club, he stopped to take a fast photo with a fan, a move that made him briefly vulnerable.

He said that even though he came with a big group of about 20 friends, he got to the place before them and thought they were already inside. This made him alone at the entrance, a simple target for anyone with bad plans.

Also, he pointed out that the guesses and talk have just made things harder for everyone, asking people to stop sharing videos without checking if they are true first. He said:

"There's mad rumors and fake stuff about it. That video is not real. That video where they're saying that's Top5, that's not Top5. He told me he was at this afterparty spot and felt like people followed him, he was taking a picture with a fan while he was going into the club, because I asked him where his homies were at. He was like, 'I was with 20 people, I get to the spot. I get there earlier than them, I'm walking in the spot, I think they're already there so really, I'm alone.' And then, he goes to take a picture with someone and somebody kinda ran up on him."

DJ Akademiks clears up U.K. talk and warns against jumping to conclusions

DJ Akademiks kind of threw out the link to the UK when he talked in a livestream. He said that folks twist facts to make fake news. He hinted that even though the fight did happen there, it was not about anything UK-ish. He chose his words with care, using "allegedly," so he wouldn't help spread lies that catch fire fast on the net.

Without saying names, he pointed out that the real reason for the mess was from somewhere else, and the UK was just by chance. He told his fans to watch out for not-so-true titles and not to make fast guesses just because something took place in a certain spot. He said:

"I'ma throw the allegedly on there because I know people like running with false things, but this has got nothing to do with the U.K. Respectfully, it did happen in the U.K., but it's got nothing to do with the U.K... It's some whole other sh*t."

Canadian rapper Top5 made a big mark on his last trip to the UK. He was there for the famous Wireless Festival, a huge music event where Drake was the star on the main stage for three back-to-back nights. While enjoying the festival vibe, Top5 made a bold claim in a livestream, saying:

"There are no real killers in London."

His words quickly spread on the web, starting a lot of talks about London's street name and crime ways. This remark didn't go over well with many who thought that Top5 was not giving enough weight to the city's deep and hard past with gangs and city crime.

    What do the netizens say?

News about Top5's words on London spread fast on social media, leading to a mix of feels from people online. Some folks were really shocked by his strong words, more so because the city is known for its street crimes and gangs.

Others went to post clips from his livestream on forums, making people talk about if he was serious or just showing off. While a few stood up for Top5's freedom to talk, a lot zoomed in on how such talk can start needless drama. In the end, the clip was shared a lot, with reactions from shock to funny memes, adding more talk to his trip to the U.K.
