YouTuber and live streamer IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., added another feather to his cap when his multi-platform livestream topped viewership on both YouTube and Twitch at the same time, on July 13.

As per Dexerto, IShowSpeed’s live stream reached around 437,000 views on YouTube, and his page on Twitch reached a peak of 48,000 views simultaneously.

The news outlet also noted that while Watkins’ views on Twitch are meagre if compared to his viewership on YouTube, his Twitch viewership still towers over the majority of streamers operating on the platform.

IShowSpeed is currently on a tour of Europe, and he has been streaming his travels ‘IRL.’

Watkins announced the tour on July 5, and shared that it will begin streaming from July 7 onwards on both YouTube and Twitch.

As part of his tour, the streamer will be visiting Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia, Greece, Spain, Finland and more.

With 27,000 live views on Twitch, Watkins is currently the top streamer being viewed on the platform.

IShowSpeed returned to Twitch after 4 years

By live streaming his July 2025 Europe tour on Twitch, IShowSpeed ended his four year long hiatus from the platform.

In 2021, the streamer was banned from Twitch after he allegedly made sexist comments against an influencer known as Ash Kash during fellow streamer, Adin Ross’ live stream.

As per Business Insider, an ‘e-date’ stream by Adin Ross involving Ash Kash and IShowSpeed became contentious after IShowSpeed asked Kash if she would "reproduce" with him if he and the model were the only two people left on Earth.

When Kash said, "no," Watkins could be seen saying to Kash in a screen-recorded segment of the stream,

“If we're the last two people on Earth, who's gonna stop me? You're not stopping me.”

Business Insider also noted that IShowSpeed called Kash “a f***ing b**ch.”

At the time, Twitch reacted by imposing an indefinite ban on IShowSpeed from its platform on grounds of violating their community guidelines related to ‘s*xual coercion or intimidation.’

Watkins posted a screenshot Twitch sent him notifying him of the ban, which the platform said at the time was ‘indefinite.’ Watkins continued streaming in YouTube for the duration of his ban.

Watkins released an apology following his comments. According to Dazed, he said,

“I’m 17 years old. I was 16 when that happened and made a huge mistake. It was stupid and immature. I immediately realised and apologised. I will continue to work on myself as I navigate the world, growing up online I recognise that I have a responsibility to set an example to those who follow and support me.”

As per Tubefilter, fellow live streamer Kai Cenat appealed to Twitch CEO Dan Clancy to unban Watkins during 2023 Streamys. He said,

“You gotta unban him. If he don’t unban Speed, he’s done.”

Game Rant noted that despite being unbanned from Twitch in 2023, Watkins did not return to the platform at the time.
