WATCH: Guy Named Brandon Is Confused by “Let’s Go Brandon” Chant in Cut For Time SNL Sketch

  • And you thought white women named Karen had it bad. In this cut-for-time Weekend Update sketch from this week's Saturday Night Live, Kyle Mooney plays a self-proclaimed "pretty average guy" named Brandon who has suddenly found himself cheered on wherever he goes.

He's thrilled, of course, to be the recipient of such encouragement until Michael Che informs him that the phrase "Let's Go Brandon" is a euphemism for "F*#k Joe Biden" that's become a frequent refrain by the right at political rallies, sporting events, and on social media.

"So I'm a joke? It's a joke to be Brandon?" Mooney responds. "Like when my uncle tweeted 'Let's Go Brandon,' he wasn't talking about me? And when those random guys at the football game chanted 'Let's Go Brandon,' they weren't talking about me?"

The sketch, which was performed at Saturday night's dress rehearsal got cut before the live show, but the show's producers apparently thought it was worth sharing regardless, posting the segment to YouTube Sunday.
