Media personality Charlie Kirk's assassination had moved many people across the country. Following the incident, his remains were flown to Phoenix and JD Vance along with Usha Vance were the ones to retrieve it.
On Thursday, September 12, his casket arrived in his home state and a message was reportedly sent by the Phoenix Air Traffic Control.
The message read,
"Welcome home Charlie. You didn't deserve it. May God bless your family."
After landing, Usha Vance stepped out of the plane along with Charlie Kirk's widow Erika Lane Frantzve. According to The Hindustan Times, Vance was scheduled to be in New York to commemorate the attacks by Al Qaeda back in September 2001. Upon hearing the news, he decided to fly to Utah to be with Kirk's family.
The Air Force Two, in which JD Vance and the group along with Charlie's remains flew to Arizona, landed hours after Donald Trump spoke about attending the funeral. The US President said that there were chances for the funeral to take place in Arizona, Kirk's home state. However, no further details about the same could be found as of now.
According to reports by azcentral, many people gathered around to see Charlie Kirk's arrival. A motorcade was also arranged and was all set to escort the activist's casket to the Hansen Mortuary Chapel near Seventh Street and Northern Avenue.

Social media platforms like X and Instagram have been flooded with posts and tributes to Charlie Kirk and condolences for his family. Many notable figures too have reacted to the sudden death of the political activist.
Celebrities like Kristin Chenoweth, Dr. Phil, Russell Brand, Candace Owens, Kamala Harris, Chris Patt, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Rosie O'Donnell, had shared their reactions to the assassination. All of them had expressed takes, condemning political violence in any shape and form. Harris wrote on X,
"Let me be clear: Political violence has no place in America. I condemn this act, and we all must work together to ensure this does not lead to more violence."
On September 11, Candace Owens posted a video on YouTube, in which she was even seen getting emotional at point of time, while calling Charlie her "best friend." In the video, Owens said,
"He loved his family. He loved his wife. He loved his country. And he didn't deserve that ending."
Donald Trump Jr. was also one of the many notable personalities who shared their reaction to the assassination. He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and called Charlie Kirk as someone "like his little brother." Many netizens who did not believe Kirk's ideologies showed empathy too and stated that someone with a different political inclination didn't mean they deserved to be killed this way.
The case has ongoing investigation. Despite having footages and images capturing the movements of the alleged gunman, authorities are yet to identify and detain him. Charlie Kirk leaves behind his wife and his two young children: a son and a daughter.
