What did Ashley Tisdale say about Charlie Kirk? Actress responds to backlash over her tribute, adding "violence is never the answer"

Ashley Tisdale responded to the netizens trolling her for her message addressing Charlie Kirk and his family.

    Several celebrities have come to limelight lately for their reactions to right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk's assassination. One of the names that had popped up was The Suite Life of Zack & Cody actress Ashley Tisdale. Tisdale took to her Instagram stories and posted a long message addressing the tragedy.

    In the post, Tisdale wrote that the situation was better in the past when people were not blaming an individual's political beliefs after his death. She ended the note writing that "when we stop caring about loss of life we are done." Meanwhile, many netizens criticized the message and assumed that she was a supporter of Kirk. 

    One user wrote on X,

    "Ashley Tisdale comparing charlie kirk's death to 9/11 is f*cking crazy."
    "I'm going to act like this didn't happen and be blissfully unaware," added a tweet.

    The actress did not ignore the criticism and instead decided to give a clarification to the netizens. She posted another story on Instagram in which she wrote that she supported LGBTQ+ rights and also wanted to protect reproductive rights. In the second story, the actress wrote,

    "It shouldn't be controversial to say this but even when we  disagree or find someone's views offensive, violence is never the answer." 


    Several celebrities got scrutinized for posting emotional tributes dedicated to Charlie Kirk

    Ashley Tisdale was not the only one to face the heat of the netizens after she posted a tribute addressing the right-wing political activist. Netizens bashed her so much that she had to take to social media to further clarify her political stance.

    Celebrities like Kristin Chenoweth, Jennifer Coolidge, David Boreanaz, and Selma Blair were the ones who were dragged due to their remarks about Kirk. American actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth, particularly popular amongst gay people, shared an Instagram story in which she stated that the incident was "sad, senseless, and disgusting."

    She further sent prayers to Charlie Kirk's family as well. However, this did not sit well with many netizens who knew her background. Many claimed that expected that she would take a stand on the political activist's views on anti-trans rhetoric. 2 Broke Girls actress Jennifer Coolidge shocked her fans after they apparently found her following Kirk.

    The Tab reported that even Jennifer had been considered a popular gay icon but her actions were contradictory. Hellboy actress Selma Blair angered her fans after she called Kirk "an incredible man." Finally, 56-year-old actor David Boreanaz also shocked fans when they allegedly saw him follow many official Trump channels as well as Charlie Kirk on social media.


    As far as Charlie Kirk's assassination is concerned, law enforcement officials had detained the suspected gunman Tyler Robinson. Robinson had further been charged with capital murder, in connection to the aforementioned assassination. The incident happened while Kirk was reportedly taking up a question from a student at the Utah Valley University last week.
