Saturday Night Live Announces First Three Hosts of Season 48

A Top Gun: Maverick star and a chart-topping rapper are among the first hosts of the season.

    Saturday Night Live has announced its Season 48 openers.

    Miles Teller (Top Gun: MaverickWhiplash) will make his hosting debut in the premiere with musical guest Kendrick Lamar on October 1, while Irish actor Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin) will also make his hosting debut for the October 8 episode with musical guest Willow Smith.

    On October 15, Megan Thee Stallion will pull double duty as host and musical guest. She first appeared on the show in October 2020. 

    The sketch comedy series recently took home the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series. Yesterday, Chris Redd revealed he was departing the show, following another seven cast members including Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, and Aidy Bryant. Saturday Night Live announced last week it was adding Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker as featured players.
