Pilot trapped for months in MrBeast's challenge refuses $500K from the YouTuber

A pilot was a part of MrBeast’s newest challenge posted to his YouTube channel, as part of which he lived alone in a private jet for 100 days. As a part of the challenge, the pilot, named Armando, was offered $500K from the YouTuber if he would stay alone inside the jet for another 100 days. Refusing the offer made on day 90 of this 100-day challenge, Armando decided to depart the plane.

As a part of the initial challenge by MrBeast, by living alone inside a private jet for a period of 100 days, the pilot could end up walking away with the jet itself as a prize. Posting the challenge to his channel on July 19, MrBeast explained the challenge and said,

“I just bought this luxurious private jet and if this pilot can spend a 100 days trapped inside, he can keep it!”

The plane was bought by MrBeast for $2.5 million. The YouTuber could be seen explaining to the pilot that if he steps out of the bounds of the jet, he will lose the challenge. He said,

“You are now 2 hours into your 100 day challenge. But if any part of your body touches the ground outside this plane, the video ends and you lose this private jet.”

When the challenge started, Armando shared his excitement for the journey ahead and said,

“100 days, living in this thing? No problem.”

As a part of the challenge, MrBeast and his companions took a few rides on the plane as well, with Armando piloting the flights. One of their trips was to see a hockey game in New York.

 

All about the difficulties faced by the pilot onboard MrBeast’s jet

Excited to get the chance of winning a private jet to take vacations with his family, Armando began facing his first difficulties while living alone inside the jet a day into the challenge.

“You would think this is a comfortable jet. It is not that comfortable to sleep in.”

The pilot devised his own daily routine living inside the jet, which consisted of doing exercises and heating his food in the microwave. Without access to a shower, Armando took to using wet wipes to clean himself.

MrBeast did offer the pilot some relief. On Day 10, he was offered the chance to fly and receive $50K in cash or a chance to shower for the remaining 90 days. The pilot refused the offer of attaching a shower to the jet and received the $50K. The prize money led to its own unique challenge, with the pilot running out of space to store the cash inside the jet.

Armando, who had been suffering from problems with his sleep, was offered the choice of an inflatable bed by MrBeast or a Lamborghini worth $250,000. Declining the prize, Armando decided to instead receive the bed.

Armando had also calculated the additional costs tied to owning a private jet and discovered that he would need a lot more money to support his dream of owning the jet, which involves secondary costs such as for fuel, storage, and maintenance.

He also began suffering from the effects of being isolated from his family and began wishing that he had his wife and daughter with him.

Armando’s family did visit him on the last day of the challenge. With ten minutes left for the 100-day challenge to end, Armando was asked by MrBeast if he would sacrifice the next 100 days for $500,000 which could afford him the chance to travel anywhere he wanted on the jet. However, he decided to reunite with his family instead.
