Alex Jones weighed in on the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, as the American political activist was recently shot at an event. For the unfamiliar, Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot dead 20 minutes after he began speaking at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday.
Viral video shows Kirk sitting under a white tent, at the "Prove Me Wrong" debate table, speaking into a microphone, when a gunshot reportedly hits him on the neck. He is seen collapsing to the ground
Meanwhile, Alex Jones took to his X account on September 11 to speak about Kirk and how he met him.
Fighting back tears, Alex shared that he is not someone who cries easily. However, he shared that he began crying moments before recording the video, while sitting in a parking lot on his way home.
Describing Charlie as a "sweet" person, Alex explained that he met him in 2016 at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, when Charlie was 27 years old, "full of life" and filled with big plans.
"He had big plans, how he was going to galvanize all the kids on campuses to vote Republican, wake them up to communism. And they killed him today with a high-powered rifle. Classic stuff, it's like crooks in Pennsylvania, running around on the roof, nobody's doing anything. And they shot him and killed him," Jones added.
He further accused the left wing of celebrating Kirk's death and inciting violence.
"It's everything else, it's just sick filth. But you know, Charlie Kirk really is a hero, and a family man, and somebody that had a real vision," Alex Jones added.
Furthermore, in the aforementioned X post, Alex Jones explained that he avoids attending public events or college campuses because he believes doing so would make him a target, adding that if he did 10 or 15 events, he'd be shot dead.
"And the left and the globalists are really screwed up, because, look, there's safety in numbers, and I was honest in videos I posted, I said, I don't do a bunch of public events, I don't go to colleges because I guarantee you, if I went out for a year, 10, 15 events, I'll get shot dead, and I'm not scared of dying, but I can digitally, at a cyber level, really counter the globalists," Jones said.
He also recalled having previously stated publicly that he was surprised Charlie Kirik wasn't dead, suggesting that Kirk was a high-profile target because of his activism.
"And I remember telling people, I think I even said it on air, I said, man, I'm surprised Charlie Kirk's not dead because the left can't deal with this. He knew what he was doing, he put himself out there, on the front lines, and he got millions of votes, millions of votes for Trump, and people have been complaining about Trump, saying he's not getting the whole agenda done quick enough, or whatever. He's getting so much done, it's amazing, it doesn't matter. It's about the team he brought forward."
Meanwhile, following the shooting, two people were taken into custody; however, neither of them has any connection to the shooting of Charlie Kirk, per a joint statement released by the FBI and the Utah Public Safety Department.
The statement also confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and a manhunt is underway for the shooter.
It added that the suspect is believed to have fired from the "roof of a building down to the location of the public event in the student courtyard."
The event was organized as part of Kirk's "American Comeback Tour." Moments before the shooting, Kirk was speaking to an audience member about mass shootings and gun violence. No other casualties were reported.
