The popular feminist website Jezebel is garnering attention online as it published an article claiming that they hired a witch from Etsy to curse Charlie Kirk. The article was released two days before Kirk's death at Utah Valley University.

The Biblical figure Jezebel ordered that the prophets be killed and threatened the life of Elijah. She is often associated with promoting sexual promiscuity.

The phrase Jezebel spirit is used to describe a woman who is supposedly controlled by a demon and has the qualities Jezebel had in the Bible.

The author of the article claimed that Charlie Kirk was allegedly spreading a "regressive rhetoric" among the youth, and his nonprofit organization, Turning Point USA, was reportedly pushing "far-right propaganda."

After expressing their displeasure with the political commentator, the author stated that their purpose was not to hurt Charlie Kirk with curses.

They wanted to cause minor inconveniences to Kirk, such as a random zit, his microphone to malfunction, or his blazer to shrink one size.

"I want to make it clear, I'm not calling on dark forces to cause him harm. I just want him to wake up every morning with an inexplicable zit. I want his podcast microphone to malfunction every time he hits record. I want his blue blazers to suddenly all be one size too small. I want one of his socks to always be sliding down his foot," they wrote.

Charlie Kirk was fatally shot one month after the curses were put on him. As Kirk's sudden passing made headlines, an editor's note was added in the article, stating that they do not "endorse, encourage, or excuse" the shooting.

"This story was published on September 8. Jezebel condemns the shooting of Charlie Kirk in the strongest possible terms. We do not endorse, encourage, or excuse political violence of any kind," the website stated.

The author of the article shared how they placed an order with the witch on Etsy. They said that at first, they searched for "curse enemy" in the platform's search bar, which ended up showing 5,000 results.

They found different types of curses, including Karmic Revenge, Same Day Bad Luck Curse, Insanity Hex, Hex Republicans, Shit Your Pants Spell, Career Crusher Curse, etc.

Then the writer placed the first order for the "Make Everyone Hate Him" spell. They also paid $50 to the witch as she claimed it would "amplify" the results of the spell.

The author then bought another spell, the "Powerful Hex Spell." The witch supposedly told them that the curse had been successfully placed on Charlie Kirk, and the results would be visible after 2-3 weeks.

The Jezebel journalist revealed that they ordered the curses in August 2025, and the same month, they noticed that the Utah State University students launched a petition to stop Kirk's event from being held.

They also noted that one X user claimed that Charlie Kirk's head supposedly looked bigger. With these observations, the writer assumed that the spells were seemingly working.

They ended the Jezebel article saying that time would show whether the Etsy witches' curses worked.
