In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly published on July 5, 2025, 90 Day Fiancé stars Sarper and Shekinah Güven opened up about their current relationship status and their views on polyamory after a dramatic season. While attending the 10th anniversary event of Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald on June 25, Shekinah addressed Sarper’s shift in perspective regarding threesomes.
“Sarper no longer wants a threesome,” Shekinah said. “He’s done with threesome fantasies. Messy as f***. He doesn’t want a threesome now.”
The couple also made it clear that while they are on friendly terms with many of their castmates, their bond lies with what they call “real couples.”
“We’re good with real couples,” Sarper said.
Fans saw their ups and downs play out during season 11, and now, after filming has wrapped, Sarper and Shekinah are working on strengthening their connection.
At the Juicy Scoop anniversary event, Shekinah shared that Sarper had moved past any interest in exploring threesomes. According to her, the shift came after watching how another couple navigated a polyamorous dynamic on their season. Sarper admitted that the experience was far more complicated than expected, and it led him to reconsider what he wanted in a relationship.
“We’re friendly with all the couples. We did not say throuples. We said couples. We’re good with all the couples,” Shekinah shared.
He emphasised that while many people may be curious about such arrangements, seeing it play out up close changed his mind. The couple made it clear that they prefer committed, traditional partnerships and hinted that not all castmates shared the same values. Shekinah clarified they remain friendly with the other pairs but drew a line between couples and throuples.
90 Day Fiancé star Sarper added that his current focus is on maintaining a sincere relationship, saying the fantasy no longer holds the same appeal it once did.
After the season wrapped, Sarper and Shekinah faced several ups and downs in their relationship. During the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Tell-All special, Sarper revealed that he was kicked out less than a month after their wedding. He shared that the argument led to him spending 10 days in a rental away from their shared home.
Despite the setback, both said they’ve been working on rebuilding their relationship and learning how to communicate better. Shekinah explained that being on camera added pressure, but their focus now is on growing as a couple.
“We’re a real couple, so we go through real ups and downs. Right now, we’re up. Tomorrow we might be down. We don’t know,” she said.
90 Day Fiancé star Shekinah also mentioned that their shared zodiac sign contributes to the intensity of their connection.
“We’re Scorpios, so it makes perfect sense, right? We love hard, fight hard,” she shared.
The couple, who famously got married in bed while staying at the Mondrian’s penthouse in West Hollywood, have embraced a quieter routine since filming ended. Shekinah said their ideal date night involves staying in, watching reality shows like Love After Lockup, and eating snacks.
Their focus now is on maintaining their bond away from cameras and dealing with challenges as they come. Although the future remains uncertain, both appear committed to making their relationship work, choosing to fight softer while staying grounded in their connection.
