Popular streamer IShowSpeed might just own a Major League Soccer (MLS) team in the future. The YouTube personality, who is a known soccer fan who loves Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, said that he would be open to buying an MLS club in the future alongside fellow content creator, MrBeast.
During the MLS All-Star weekend in Austin, Texas, where the 2025 MLS All-Star Game took place on July 23, IShowSpeed, or as he is frequently referred to, Speed, was asked if he could see himself buying a soccer club with any content creator. As per Front Office Sports, Speed said,
“MrBeast! Me and MrBeast can invest in one of these MLS teams in 50 years from now.”
Revising his answer, IShowSpeed provided a more hopeful outlook, and said,
“No, not even 50 years from now, 20 years from now! We would be pretty set.”
IShowSpeed, who has 42.7 million subscribers on YouTube and 1.2 million followers on live streaming platform Twitch, is know for being a die-hard fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. In 2022, he got a tattoo of Ronaldo’s face on his arm, although he recently opened up about needing to get the ink fixed.
Speed even succeeded in meeting Ronaldo after Portugal won a Euro 2024 qualifier match in 2023, as per The Sporting News.
In a clip of Speed meeting Ronaldo, the streamer could be seen jumping when he had a glimpse of the soccer star. As excitement took over him, Speed repeatedly asked himself to relax as Ronaldo got out of his car. Dropping to his knees when Ronaldo stepped out, Speed went on to hug his icon. After performing Ronaldo’s trademark celebration together, Speed told the Al-Nassr player,
“I love everything about you bro.”

The streamer has also released a track titled Ronaldo (Sewey) in honor of his soccer hero. He has also sang in honor of FIFA World Cup 2022, when he released the single, World Cup.
IShowSpeed is also known for making lavish nods to his soccer icon. As per Marca, Speed bought a Lamborghini Huracan in 2024 with custom imagery on the car of Ronaldo’s iconic celebration. The publication noted that the car, which also featured the Portuguese national soccer team’s emblem, probably set the streamer back by 200,000 euros.
Speed reached a major milestone in his soccer fan-ship when he was invited to the MLS All-Star game this year. In a video uploaded to his Live Speedy channel, he was asked how he felt on being invited to his first-ever MLS All-Star game. Speed said,
“It’s crazy here, the vibe here in Austin is crazy. I can’t wait to show my skills, what I’ve been working on here in Austin, so, I’m excited.”
It was at the MLS All-Star game that Speed also referred to his love for soccer and the role that Ronaldo played in his early life. He noted,
“You know, when I was a young kid, man, you know, I looked up to Ronaldo, I watched Ronaldo all the time…Ronaldo is the GOAT, and that is who I look up to.”
In between practicing his skills, the streamer answered questions during interviews, and was asked,
“Would you give up streaming forever if it meant that Ronaldo was your best friend?”
With his trademark wit, Speed answered,
“No, because I have the ability for him to be my best friend while streaming. So, I can’t give up, I can’t give up where I started.”
For now, it remains to be seen if IShowSpeed and MrBeast indeed team up to buy a MLS club in the near future, bringing content creation and soccer closer together.
