“Those leather pants survived TWO marriages?”: Erika Kirk mocked online as 2015 photos with former boyfriend surfaces online

The recently resurfaced pictures of Erika Kirk have sparked new controversy on social media, with netizens taking a dig at the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) CEO. 

Comedian Ginny Robinson (@ImGinnyRobinson), who has frequently attacked Kirk on social media, shared a 2015 photo of the businesswoman-podcaster. Erika was seen posing hand-in-hand with JT Massey, who is reportedly her ex-fiancé.

The picture appeared on the Instagram account @lunabearstudios, which has seemingly been deactivated. Other 2015 photos of the former couple also made their way to social media, sparking further speculation. 

Ginny Robinson, who was among the first X handles to share one of the photos, commented: 

“Erika had been married before Charlie?”

YouTuber That Surprise Witness reacted to Ginny Robinson’s post and wrote: 

“You’re telling me those leather pants survived TWO marriages?” 

The "leather pants" remark was in reference to Erika Kirk's viral moment with JD Vance in November. The podcaster-businesswoman was wearing similar pants while greeting the vice president.

Social media users were quick to take a jibe at the TPUSA CEO after multiple pictures featuring her and her former beau surfaced on X. Ginny Robinson mockingly questioned Erika Kirk’s previous marriage, sparking similar reactions from others. 

“She really loves the leather pants,” a user joked. 

“She has always loved herself some leather pants huh,” another user added. 

“hold on, why does this feel like buried lore?,” one user commented. 

“this is taking me out,” another one wrote, while posting more photos of Kirk. 

A user attempted to spark another conspiracy theory and tweeted a 2019 photo featuring Erika Kirk and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son. They wrote: 

“I hope that’s not the leather pants 🤔Here’s here with Yair Netanyahu, son of Benjamin Netanyahu in 2019… really interesting person she is.”

Another user mocked Erika Kirk and said: 

“collecting ex-husbands like Pokémon! gotta catch ‘em all!” 

A section of users also defended Erika Kirk. @EllenStreiff, a Christian nationalist, asserted that the photographer was her niece and went to the same high school as Erika. She pointed out that Kirk was engaged and not married. Streiff wrote: 

“Photographer was my niece. She and Erika attended the same high school. Engaged. Historically engagements serve as a probationary period where couples and families could assess compatibility before the binding commitment of marriage.” 

Another user commented: 

“God forbid she had a boyfriend before Charlie.” 

One user remarked: 

“Being engaged and being married are not the same, and God and Jesus know the difference.”

Erika had described JT Massey as her “favorite human and best friend” in a 2015 Arizona Foothills Magazine profile. There is no evidence that she married someone else before Charlie Kirk. 

In October, another unfounded rumor began circulating on social media, claiming that Erika was previously married to someone named Derek Chelsvig, whom she later divorced. No public records or credible evidence supported the viral claim. 

Charlie and Erika Kirk met in 2018 and began dating in 2019, before tying the knot in 2021. The couple had two kids, whom they welcomed in 2022 and 2024. After Charlie’s assassination, Erika took over as TPUSA CEO and has proclaimed that she will carry forward her late husband’s legacy.
