According to exclusive reports by TMZ, President Donald Trump is reportedly considering commuting Sean "Diddy" Combs' sentence. The source claimed that the decision may be taken as early as this week. TMZ reports also suggested that many White House officials have been urging the president to not go ahead with this decision.

For the unversed, the rapper has been sentenced to 50 months in jail for violating the Mann Act. These reports surfaced a few days after Trump commuted the sentence of former Congressman George Santos last week. These reports and speculations further drew attention to Diddy's endorsement during the 2020 presidential election.

For the unversed, the rapper endorsed Joe Biden at the time, who eventually happened to win the election as well. At the time, he shared a tweet that read,

"The NUMBER ONE priority is to get Trump out of office. HE HAS TO GO. We can't allow this man to continue to try and DIVIDE US. The people that have the most responsibility and should be SCARED TO DEATH of this man are white people. WE ARE ON THE VERGE OF A RACE WAR."

The rapper further tweeted that Donald Trump had "taken things too far" and needed to be held accountable. Combs even launched an organization known as "Our Black Party" and further described it as one of his "boldest projects" ever. According to reports by Independent, Diddy's purpose behind the organization was to "create a platform to help advance a political agenda that addresses the needs of Black people."

Diddy was one of the many names that urged Joe Biden to choose a Black woman as the vice president

In August 2020, a group of more than 100 Black male leaders wrote a letter addressed to Joe Biden, urging him to pick a Black woman to be the Vice President of the US at the time. The group of men included Diddy, Charlamagne Tha God, Ben Crump, Bakari Sellers, and Van Jones, to name a few. The open letter read,

"For too long, Black women have been asked to do everything from rally the troops to risk their lives for the Democratic Party with no acknowledgement, no respect, no visibility, and certainly not enough support."

At one point in the letter, the signers mentioned,

"Failing to select a Black woman in 2020 means you will lose the election."

This letter surfaced a few months after Biden pledged to pick a woman as the vice president, in March 2020. The aforementioned tweet by Diddy suggested that he did not just endorse Joe Biden but even spoke in favor of getting Trump out of the office. According to Variety, Diddy also believed that while he had supported the Democrats, none of the parties have done a lot for Black people.

As far as the latest speculations surrounding Trump apparently considering commuting Diddy's sentence, no confirmation has been received by the President himself as of now.

Meanwhile, netizens have shared their reactions to these speculations and reports. Many did not seem to be in favor of this decision, in case it actually happens.
