As speculations suggesting President Trump is considering a pardon for Sean "Diddy" Combs make headlines, media personality Megyn Kelly reasons why he "should not." Taking to her official X account on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Kelly weighed in on why it was not a good idea.
Stating that the rapper didn't deserve it, she continued:
"He’s a Trump hater. He’s a woman abuser. MAGA is already upset over elites seeming to cover for each other. This would not help."
Trump should not pardon Diddy. He doesn’t deserve it. He’s a Trump hater. He’s a woman abuser. MAGA is already upset over elites seeming to cover for each other. This would not help. GOP struggling w/young female voters, most of whom will HATE a Diddy pardon.

The media personality was referencing the controversy surrounding Trump and his former friendship with convicted s*x offender, Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein started an elite circle that procured women and underage girls for his associaties. Notably, many have recently criticized the current administration for not releasing Epstein's client list. Many believe this stemmed from wanting to protect the elite named in the list.
Kelly's tweet comes as Deadline, citing an "administration source," reported that the President has "seriously considered" pardoning Diddy. Per the outlet, Combs' associates had been pitching the idea to the White House. Further, another source stated that the topic had been leveled up from "just another Trump weave to an actionable event."
In her X post, Megyn Kelly elaborated that pardoning Combs would not sit well with younger women. Noting that the GOP (a.k.a. the Grand Old Party or the Republican Party) had been struggling with votes for the said demographic, she wrote:
"GOP struggling w/young female voters, most of whom will HATE a Diddy pardon."
This is not the first time Megyn Kelly has disagreed with Trump on the basis of women's rights, despite being a conservative. Back in 2016, when he first ran for President, Kelly criticized him for his misogynistic remarks. However, she changed her stance this election, even stating he was a "protector" of women during one of his rallies.
Diddy's bombshell trial concluded earlier this month, with courts finding him guilty of prostitution-related charges. However, they acquitted him of more serious charges related to s*x trafficking and racketeering.
During the trial, several witnesses, including his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura, took the stand, detailing how Diddy allegedly abused her during their time together. While the rapper had denied all accusations levied against him, it is worth noting that last May, CNN released security footage of a hotel lobby showing him kicking and dragging Ventura.
During a May 30 press conference, President Trump had suggested he would consider a pardon for Diddy, according to USA Today. Quoting the President, the outlet wrote:
"I would certainly look at the facts if I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me."
Trump elaborated that they used to be friends and reportedly ran in similar circles but grew apart after he joined politics. Trump added that their personal relationship would not affect his decision.
It wouldn't come as a surprise if he pardoned the Bad Boy Records founder. He has pardoned reality TV couple Todd and Julie Chrisley and rapper NBA YoungBoy earlier this year. He also did so for Lil Wayne and Kodak Black in 2021.
Diddy will remain behind bars until his sentencing on October 3. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
