General Hospital star Laura Wright has opened up about Carly’s dramatic fallout with Drew. Also, it has now become one of the show’s most interesting storylines.

Carly was once deeply in love with Drew, but now finds herself at loggerheads with him after their relationship turned sour.

This betrayal has taken a toll on Carly’s emotions. She can no way hold up her dislike against Drew.

The fallout reached a boiling point when Drew, now engaged to Carly’s former daughter-in-law Willow, confronted Carly over Michael's decision to deny Willow access to their children.

Carly, however, rejects Drew’s plea. She clearly states that she has no affection for him.

In an exclusive interview on July 15, 2025, Laura Wright spoke candidly about the bitterness Carly feels toward Drew. As Wright puts it,

“At this point, the only thing she thinks about him is,

‘You are a horrible human being.’ I don’t think she gives herself that much time to think about Drew because, you know, she’d want to kill him!”

Carly’s fallout with Drew on General Hospital

Carly's fallout with Drew on General Hospital is evident in recent episodes. Their relationship of love and hope spiraled into anger and betrayal.

According to Laura Wright, Carly never expected her once-close relationship with Drew to downgrade so rapidly. Wright explained that Carly initially believed that Drew was manipulating Willow.

Wright elaborated, revealing how Carly’s perception of Willow shifted after she discovered that Willow attempted to fast-track the custody case while Michael was still recovering abroad.

Carly felt deeply hurt by Willow's lack of empathy toward Michael.

As Wright noted, “It’s her lack of empathy towards Michael that is most shocking to Carly.”

Willow’s unauthorized entry into the Quartermaine mansion to take Michael and Sasha’s daughter, Daisy created another rift.

While Carly doesn’t yet know about this, the thought of Willow taking such drastic steps behind Michael’s back enraged Carly.

Wright further stated, “Carly even came out and said, ‘I thought the whole time it was Drew pulling the strings, but you really are this person. This is all you,”

Carly’s bitterness also extends to Drew. Despite their past romance, Carly now sees Drew from a different angle.

He is no longer the man she once loved. Instead, he is a source of deep resentment.

Drew asked Carly to reason with Michael and grant Willow access to their children, Wiley and Amelia. Carly, however, rejected Drew’s request outright.

Wright put it bluntly, saying, “At this point, the only thing she thinks about him is, ‘You are a horrible human being.’”

Carly’s feelings toward Drew and Willow have been filled with betrayal. Wright’s candid remarks about Carly's mindset—“you know, she’d want to kill him”—reflect how deeply hurt Carly feels by their actions.

There is no room for reconciliation in Carly’s heart; the damage has been done, and the emotional wounds may never heal.

Despite Carly’s history of maintaining good relationships with many of her exes, her feelings toward Drew and Willow have been irreparably altered.

Unlike with Sonny, who has been through many ups and downs with Carly, Drew and Willow's betrayal has left Carly with no desire to mend the relationships.

Wright describes Carly as someone who is unable to even tolerate the sight of Drew, let alone entertain the idea of forgiveness.
