The sudden passing of longtime NFL agent and business partner Jeff Sperbeck has left people mourning the loss, including Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway.

Sperbeck, 62, passed away in April after he was involved in a fatal golf cart accident in La Quinta, California. Police officially said that his death was a case of an accident, which had a lot of people wondering about his family and where they are now, notably his wife, Cori Sperbeck.

Cori and Jeff Sperbeck were married in 2024. Despite their short union, Cori made it clear in her farewell speech that she deeply loved and respected her husband.

"I will miss you everyday of my life, Thank you for loving me." Cori wrote on Instagram Threads.

Jeff Sperbeck is also survived by his three children from a previous marriage, Carly, Sam, and Jackson. In a family statement released after his death, Cori called him “a wonderful father, husband, brother, son, and friend to many” and said they were “grieving this unimaginable loss” with their close friends the Elways and others who were part of Jeff’s professional and personal life (Daily Mail).

According to reports, the couple were together at the time of the incident. Jeff Sperbeck reportedly decided to stand while riding in the caravanning golf carts to an event near The Madison Club with Elway, his girlfriend, Paige Green, and others on April 26.

There were no reports of reckless driving or horseplay and Jeff Sperbeck is alleged to have simply lost his balance and fallen backwards, hitting his head on the asphalt. Although he was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center and got immediate medical attention, he eventually died a few days later.

Sperbeck was a long-time player and agent in the sports world, where he represented more than 100 NFL players. He started representing Elway in 1990 and eventually became his business partner, aiding him in building an off-the-field empire that included restaurants and their wine producer, 7Cellars (ESPN News).

They were more than just business partners, as Jeff Sperbeck was someone Elway said “brought loyalty, wisdom, friendship, and love” into his life.

According to the Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau, Jeff’s death was the result of blunt force trauma and was therefore ruled as an accident. No foul play was suspected in the case, said Sheriff Chad Bianco who called the death a tragic accident.
