Chris Brown and Live Nation are facing a lawsuit from Miami-based Breezy Swimwear. The company claims trademark infringement linked to the singer's "Breezy Bowl XX" tour. The dispute focuses on the use of "Breezy" and "Breezy Bowl" terms, which the swimwear brand says it used in business before Brown announced his tour.
Breezy Swimwear says it has owned the "Breezy" trademark since 2018. It allegedly started using "Breezy Bowl" to promote its brand in 2023. The company markets itself as empowering women and holds events under the Breezy Bowl name. It filed a lawsuit this week claiming that Brown's tour branding is confusing customers and harming the swimwear company's image.
John Hoover, the lawyer for Breezy Swimwear, released a statement to explain the company's stance. He stressed that small businesses need to protect their brand recognition, no matter how famous other parties might be.
“Celebrities do not get to overwrite small-business names just because they are famous. Breezy Swimwear coined ‘Breezy Bowl’ here in Miami; we are simply asking the court to protect that home-grown brand and end the confusion," he said.

The brand provided social media examples to back its claims, including direct messages where people confused the swimwear events with promotions tied to the artist's tour. Some messages even asked if Chris Brown would show up at Breezy Swimwear’s events. The company says this confusion hurts its image and purpose.
Kris Izquierdo, the CEO, posted updates about the court case online and mentioned that their company had been running the “Breezy Bowl” Instagram account for years to advertise their own events. Breezy Swimwear’s lawyers are asking the court to stop Chris Brown and Live Nation from using the names “Breezy” or “Breezy Bowl” alongside the tour. They also want any tour-related merchandise with those names to be destroyed.
Chris Brown shared plans for the "Breezy Bowl XX" tour in March 2025 to mark 20 years since his debut album was released. The North American portion kicked off in Miami on July 31 at loanDepot Park, which is also the home base of Breezy Swimwear. Summer Walker and Bryson Tiller appeared as special guests to join the tour. Brown also organized an official afterparty at LIV Nightclub right after the first performance.
Neither Brown nor Live Nation has commented on the lawsuit. The case continues as both sides wait for the next steps in court.
