YouTuber Banzz has deleted all the content from his YouTube channel, which has a following of 2.05 million subscribers. The deletion of Banzz’s content comes in the wake of the loss of his bet against comedian Yoon Hyung-bin.

On June 29, Banzz uploaded a video titled, ‘Final Video’ to his channel, as per allkpop. The publication also reported that in the video, Banzz shared that except for the last video, all content on his platform has been deleted. Noting that the channel itself will be deleted on July 7, the YouTuber said,

“This video will be the last on my channel. Since I made this promise with everything on the line, I intend to keep it. This channel is scheduled to be deleted on July 7, one week from now.”

As per allkpop, Banzz shared his plans for the future, while acknowledging how important his channel was for him. He said,

“Over the past 12 years, I uploaded all my videos to this channel. For me, this YouTube channel was like a diary. Although this channel will disappear, I will return to my roots and start again from scratch.”

Why did YouTuber Banzz delete his content?

According to Dexerto, the deletion of YouTuber Banzz’s channel was a part of a bet between him and comedian Yoon Hyung-bin. The bet involved an MMA challenge, and the loser would be forced to delete his channel.

Banzz posted the fight scheduled to his Instagram page back in May, and revealed that the special match would be held on June 28 at the Seoul Jangchung Arena during the Goobne Road FC 073.

Korean JoongAng Daily reported that Banzz and Yoon Hyung-bin would be facing off in the catchweight of 79 kilograms. The publication also observed that while Banzz, who was born as Jung Man-soo, was a elite 90-kilogram judo athlete during middle school, Yoon Hyung-bin had already won an MMA fight against the Japanese Takaya Tsukuda in 2014.

According to Korean JoongAng Daily, the fighter and comedian, during an interview before his fight against the YouTuber, said,

“I’m treating this as my final MMA challenge. I’ve set a hellish schedule — jogging in the morning, training with a high school wrestling team in the afternoon and striking practice at an MMA gym in the evening.”

The news outlet reported that Yoon Hyung-bin also added,

“I have a pale face and wear glasses. I look like your average neighborhood guy — someone you’d see anywhere. I don’t have a naturally muscular body. But I want to grit my teeth, fight and win to inspire all the ordinary people out there…Fighting, like comedy, requires showmanship and entertainment to attract fans. I’m currently the president of the KBS Comedians’ Association, and I’ve posted a flyer in our office to recruit a cheering squad. After I win, I want to shout with my colleagues: ‘Don’t underestimate your neighborhood guy.’”

According to Dexerto, the critical match ended within a mere 1 minute and 42 seconds of the first round when Banzz lost via TKO.

After the fight, Yoon Hyung-bin offered his own cheeky take on Banzz’s channel, and as per allkpop, said,

“I thought about it, and deleting the Youtube channel seems a bit much. So from now on, I’ll just start uploading my videos on Banzz’s channel.”

Later on, however, the news outlet noted that the comedian thought that Banzz having to delete his channel was unfortunate. He said,

“My heart feels heavy. We wanted to challenge each other with something serious, but maybe putting one’s livelihood on the line was too much. That’s why I feel really heavy-hearted.”

For now, fans of the Banzz remain distressed at losing their beloved YouTuber’s content.
