Don't expect to see any new episodes of House of the Dragon in 2023.

Fans may be itching for new installments of the Game of Thrones spin-off after last weekend's explosive season finale, but HBO and HBO Max Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys says they'll have to be patient

"Don’t expect it in '23, but I think sometime in '24," said Bloys. "We're just starting to put the plan together, and just like last time, there are so many unknowns. It's not to be coy or secretive, but you don't want to say it's going to be ready on this date, and then you have to move it."

House of the Dragon was renewed for a second season just a week into its run. The Season 1 finale drew in some 9 million viewers, the highest since Game of Thrones' series finale in 2019. Set 200 years before the events of Game of ThronesHouse of the Dragon chronicles the fiery exploits of the silver-haired Targaryen family.

House of the Dragon is streaming on HBO Max.
