Amazon Prime Video launched The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 with just two episodes on July 18, followed by a weekly release schedule through August 15, as reported by azcentral. The change in format has led to questions about the show's rollout strategy, especially compared to previous seasons that offered multiple episodes upfront.

The current season will feature a total of eight episodes, with new ones dropping every Thursday. According to the report, this approach is part of a structured release plan rather than a delay or change in production. Viewers can expect the finale to air in mid-August, giving the season a steady, five-week run.

The main reason Amazon Prime Video is releasing The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 differently is to build anticipation and excitement for the new episodes. Rather than dumping the full season all at once, the streaming service is premiering the first two episodes on July 16, and then releasing the rest of the episodes on a weekly basis.

This weekly release schedule will continue until the season finale, which is set to air on September 17. So viewers will have to tune in each Wednesday to see the next chapter in Belly's story, rather than being able to binge-watch the entire season in one sitting.

What's the Release Schedule for the Rest of the Season?

Where can I watch the new season?

The good news is that you don't have to go searching all over the internet to find the new episodes of The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3. The entire season, including the first two episodes that have already aired, will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

If you're not already an Amazon Prime member, you'll need to sign up in order to watch the show. An individual Amazon Prime membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. There's also a discounted student membership option for $7.49 per month or $69 per year.

Once you've got your Amazon Prime subscription squared away, you'll be able to stream all the seasons of The Summer I Turned Pretty and including the brand new Season 3 episodes as they're released each week. And if you need to catch up on the previous seasons first, those are available to stream on Prime Video as well.

    Why the weekly release?

So why did Amazon Prime Video decide to roll out The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 on a weekly basis, rather than releasing all the episodes at once like they've done in the past?

It likely comes down to a strategic decision to build more hype and anticipation around the new season. By doling out the episodes week by week, Amazon can keep viewers engaged and talking about the show for a longer period of time, rather than having the buzz die down quickly after an entire season drops at once.

This weekly release format is becoming more common for streaming shows, as it allows platforms to extend the lifespan of a series and generate more discussion and excitement around new episodes. It also gives viewers something to look forward to each week, rather than being able to plow through the whole thing in one sitting.

Of course, some fans may be disappointed that they can't just binge the new season of The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 all at once. But for those who enjoy the weekly episode format, this new release strategy should help build the suspense and keep you guessing about what's to come for Belly and her friends.
