Days of Our Lives has seen countless twists, turns and characters come and go. The story takes place in the fictional town of Salem, following the lives of several families, romance, relationships and the many problems the characters face. The cast of Days of Our Lives has the newest addition, Conner Floyd as one of the famous actors from The Young and the Restless.

Conner Floyd came up in the soap opera world with his casting on Days of Our Lives as Chad DiMera, previously portrayed by Billy Flynn. Flynn, who had played Chad for over a decade, decided to leave the show that made Floyd's casting possible.

As Parade stated on June 24, 2025, Floyd left the CBS soap to replace Flynn as Chad on Days of Our Lives.

Conner Floyd: More about the actor and his career

Conner Floyd is an actor best known for his portrayal of Phillip "Chance" Chancellor IV on The Young and the Restless. Floyd made his irreplaceable position on the CBS soap for his acting skills and became a fan favorite. However, Connor is now moving from The Young and the Restless to Days of Our Lives. As People stated on June 23, 2025, Floyd's casting as Chad DiMera was confirmed after Billy Flynn, who had portrayed Chad for more than ten years. He announced his departure from the show.

Chad DiMera is one of the most iconic characters in Days of Our Lives. He is the son of the infamous Stefano DiMera. While Chad has spent much of his time trying to rise above his family’s criminal legacy, his journey has not been easy. 

His complicated character has grown personally and dealt with heartbreaking challenges. One of these challenges included the death of his wife, Abigail Deveraux. 

Conner’s on-screen role on Days of Our Lives

After Billy Flynn’s departure, Floyd steps into a role with immense weight. Chad has been through a lot, including being a single father to his children, Thomas and Charlotte, after Abigail’s tragic death. He has mostly been a “good guy” in a family notorious for its dark deeds. 

However, with his wife gone, Chad starts to explore other dynamics. This also includes a possible romance with Cat Greene, an ex-ISA analyst who has become involved in Salem’s larger mysteries.

As a single father, Chad’s role in Days of Our Lives changes. He is no longer just a corporate heir with ties to DiMera Enterprises. Now he is on his own balancing his life and responsibilities as a father. 

Chad has always wanted to lead an honest life, even though there's a criminal history in his family. He is involved in the legacy of his late wife, Abigail, particularly through the running of the Salem Spectator. Floyd will have to fit into the shoes of Chad’s character with his own twist, especially in the ongoing storyline surrounding DiMera Enterprises.

Chad’s relationship with his brother, Tony DiMera, is one of the major plotlines to follow, and their attempts to take control of DiMera Enterprises from the Kiriakis family. Chad’s reluctance to get involved in the criminal operations of his family could set him on a path of moral conflict and family feuds.

Another dynamic seems to be Chad’s interactions with Cat Greene. Cat may draw him into investigating shady dealings surrounding Salem University Hospital connecting with the show’s ongoing focus on family secrets and conspiracies.
