Friday Night Lights Star Zach Gilford to Play Villain in Paramount+ Criminal Minds Revival

Paramount+'s Criminal Minds revival now has a title (and a recurring star). 

Zach Gilford will recur in Criminal Minds: Evolution, a series that will follow in the footsteps of its CBS predecessor in focusing on the FBI's Behavior Analysis Unit. The Friday Night Lights vet will play Elias Voit, a dark, death-obsessed operations analyst for a global cyber-security firm. 

Criminal Minds: Evolution will see the team go head to head with Voit, described as their greatest threat; he's utilized the pandemic to grow a network of serial killers. When the network goes live, "the team must hunt them down, one murder at a time". 

Original cast members Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster will reprise their roles. 

A premiere date for Criminal Minds: Evolution has not been announced yet.
