Turning Point USA co-founder Tyler Bowyer says Charlie Kirk's security team had no role in his assassination and the UVU police is to blame

Tyler Bowyer defended Charlie Kirk's security team when asked if they did their duty

    Turning Point USA co-founder Tyler Bowyer appeared on Alex Clark's show on her episode that was dropped on YouTube on September 25, 2025. In the episode, Bowyer recalled a lot of moments shared with Charlie Kirk, including the first time they met. Further in the video, Bowyer talked about Kirk's views on different factors.

    Tyler Bowyer further made some claims about the assassination of Kirk at Utah Valley University. He claimed that the university police in Utah were to blame for the tragic incident that happened earlier this month. This response arrived when Clark asked Bowyer about his thoughts regarding whether Kirk's security team did their best to keep him safe.

    "It's like really bothering me that there are people out there even suggesting that Charlie's security team was somehow you know lackluster or involved..."

    Tyler Bowyer added that they had known Kirk's security team for many years and said that they were like "brothers" with the late political activist. He additionally believed that UVU police were to be held responsible, and continued:

    "In this case for Utah Valley University, their responsibility was to protect the campus all of the perimeter rooftops everything else."

    Further, during the conversation, Bowyer defended the security team by saying that they did all that they could do in their power. According to the TPUSA co-founder, the security personnel were the first ones to provide aid to Kirk after he was shot. At one point in time, Tyler Bowyer said that they were now waiting for the investigation to continue in order to get more details about what happened.


    Tyler Bowyer opened up about moments related to Charlie Kirk

    Further in the conversation with Alex Clark, Tyler Bowyer was asked if he had moments of disagreement with Charlie Kirk. While Bowyer stated that they had a number of disagreements, he believed Kirk was always right. He added that Kirk had this tendency to want to be challenged by people on his beliefs.

    Bowyer continued:

    "The one thing I would say about this is that Charlie was such a humble human being that he wanted to have people around him that would challenge him that would disagree..."

    According to Tyler Bowyer, there were many people in position to want to be surrounded by people who would only agree with them. Bowyer further talked about the situation with the decision-making process within the organization. According to him, many people have currently been involved in the decision-making process of the organization.

    Bowyer added that when any disagreement surfaced while going through this process, Charlie Kirk would never shut them up and, in fact, was quite humble.


    The authorities are now investigating the assassination of Charlie Kirk. A suspected gunman identified as Tyler Robinson had been taken into custody, and charges were filed by the authorities.

    Robinson had been charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child.
