Reality TV star and actress Lala Kent shared a health update that has got her social media followers worried. As per People Magazine, on May 13, Lala Kent took to her official account on Instagram to reveal that her doctor had discovered an abnormality in her eye.
Kent, through subsequent stories on Instagram, gave further details about the diagnosis. According to the report by People Magazine, Kent had consulted a doctor regarding an irritation that she observed in her eye. According to Kent, her doctor, after a check up, concluded that it seemed to be a case of inflamed pinguecula, which is a raised bump on the conjunctiva, the white part of the eye. However, Kent was not convinced with the diagnosis, as the eye drops that she was prescribed were proving to be ineffective.
Via her Instagram stories, Kent added that her apprehension was indeed proven correct. As per cable television network Bravo’s website, Kent updated on her Instagram story, saying,
“I went to a doctor’s appointment today — to a doctor that came very highly recommended — and he looked at it and said, ‘I do not think it is [an inflamed pinguecula] at all. I actually want to biopsy it because, to me, it looks like it could be pre-cancer.’ So, they’re trying to expedite surgery to remove it and see what it actually is.”
As per Bravo’s report, the Vanderpump Rules celebrity spoke about her anxieties with her followers and well-wishers on her social media pages. Kent confessed that while she is usually the person who is a support for her friends when they go through health and medical scares, this time, her experiences are drastically different. As per Bravo’s report, she said,
“It’s just wild. I’ll have friends who come to me when they’re going through a health situation, and I’m like, ‘It’s going to be fine. You’ll be good. We’re gonna figure it out. We’ll cross bridges when we get to them.”
Kent also shared that undergoing a health scare is all too different and the advice that she usually shares with her friends is ironically not working for her. The reality TV actress added however, that she is trying to stay strong. According to Bravo, Kent added,
“Then, when you’re placed in this situation, all you can do is just sit here and stress and think about every possible horrendous situation, and all of the advice that you give to people completely goes out the window. So, I’m trying to stay positive.”
On May 14, The Row actress updated her social media followers about the subsequent diagnosis of the abnormal growth on her eye. As per her update, the lesion on her eye did indeed show evidence of pre-cancer cells. On her latest Instagram story, Kent shared,
“So I got a text with the doctor that I went and saw last night at 10:30 p.m. He said ‘The specialist can see you tomorrow at 9 a.m.’…So I was there at 9 a.m. She looked at it (report)…she said that it is pre-cancer”
Kent further gave details about the treatment she has been prescribed by the specialist, saying,
“I want you to do the chemo drops for three months. We’re gonna do a week of them and go off for three weeks, and we’re gonna do that for three months.’ At that point in time, God willing, it kills all the cancerous cells. If it doesn’t, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it and talk about surgery.”
While recording her Instagram story, Lala Kent also confessed that she had cried when she heard the word ‘cancer.’ While she was updating her social media followers about her serious medical situation, Kent tenderly held her 8 month old baby daughter in her arms.
