Elon Musk is not a fan of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

The Tesla CEO took to Twitter to reignite his longstanding rivalry with Amazon head Jeff Bezos by way of insulting the streamer's highly-anticipated new series. "Tolkien is turning in his grave," he wrote. "Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart and nice."

While The Rings of Power drew some 25 million global viewers in its first 24 hours on the platform, Musk was unimpressed by Galadriel (the character made famous by Cate Blanchett in Peter Jackson's trilogy, now played by Morfydd Clark in the series).

Musk and Bezos have long butted heads publicly, both as business rivals (Musk's SpaceX and Bezos' Blue Origin are in their own space race) and personally; when Musk surpassed Bezos as the world's richest person, he mocked him by sending a virtual silver medal his way.

Despite Musk's feelings about the adaptation, The Rings of Power has already become Amazon's best-performing original series ever. Last week, Bezos acknowledged the "big responsibility" that came with taking on The Rings of Power. "We know that this world is important to so many people, we know it’s a privilege to work inside this world," he said.
