Big Brother: Unlocked premiered on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 8/7c on CBS, offering a new behind-the-scenes companion to Big Brother 27. Hosted by former winners Taylor Hale and Derrick Levasseur, the bi-weekly series features never-before-seen footage, exclusive interviews, and special commentary segments.
During the premiere, a mystery celebrity guest was teased, and a series of clues were revealed both on the main show and on Instagram. This sparked widespread speculation about the guest’s identity.
One of the clues shown during Thursday's Big Brother episode was a red superhero cape with the words, “It’s a floater! It’s a veto champ. No, it’s a Big Brother Superfan.”
A second clue — a red frying pan — led many viewers to think of Josh Martinez from Season 19. However, the show clarified the guest would be a celebrity, not a past contestant.
Later, a final clue featured the phrase “SNL alum” alongside an image of the Brooklyn Bridge. This combination led many to believe that the guest is Bobby Moynihan.
The former Saturday Night Live cast member is known to be a longtime Big Brother viewer and previously appeared on the show during Season 19 to host a veto competition.
The buildup to Big Brother: Unlocked included a deliberate clue-drop campaign, starting with the live episode on July 24.
Hosts Taylor Hale and Derrick Levasseur hinted at a mystery guest set to appear in the premiere. Levasseur said the person was “good at adapting,” while Hale added that the guest was experienced with live television.
A red superhero cape appeared on screen with a caption referencing Big Brother gameplay tropes like “floater” and “veto champ,” indicating a longtime follower of the show.
The second visual clue was a red frying pan. While some initially guessed Josh Martinez due to his infamous pot-and-pan antics in Season 19, CBS clarified the guest was a celebrity, not a former houseguest.
On Instagram, Big Brother added context:
“This second clue might wake you up, but don’t think too quickly of the first person that pops up in your mind.”
Then came the final clue: “SNL alum,” paired with an image of the Brooklyn Bridge. This narrowed the speculation.
As Reddit users pointed out, Bobby Moynihan once entered the Big Brother house during season 19 and mocked Martinez with a red frying pan, identical to the one shown in the clue.
“It’s Bobby Moynihan, isn’t it?” one viewer commented. Others agreed, noting his well-known love for the show.
Bobby Moynihan has a clear connection to the show, which made him a strong contender for the Big Brother: Unlocked premiere guest.
In season 19, he hosted a veto competition while promoting his then-new show Me, Myself, & I.
During that appearance, he recreated Josh Martinez’s iconic behavior with a red frying pan — a detail many viewers didn’t forget.
That same pan became a major clue in the latest guessing game. One Reddit user stated,
“Figured out the celeb superfan guest for Unlocked! It’s Bobby Moynihan!
This picture is the one CBS has posted, zoomed in on the pan.” Another user replied, “Whoa. I think you cracked the code.”
While CBS has not officially confirmed the identity at press time, the clues and fan analysis all align with Moynihan.
Whether it’s confirmed in the premiere or saved for a later reveal, the show’s teaser campaign has already generated renewed buzz for Big Brother: Unlocked and introduced its recurring segments like BB Fantasy Draft and Big Move/Bad Move.
As Hale mentioned during the episode, “Fantasy Draft will be played first,” and viewers were also told to expect “a surprise celebrity” alongside known guest Matthew Berry.
Stay tuned for more updates.
