The AIDS Epidemic Threatens 1980s London Gay Culture in It's a Sin Trailer

  • London in the 1980s was a place where gay culture could thrive with New Wave abandon, until the AIDS crisis hit and devastated the community.

This trailer for the new HBO Max miniseries It's a Sin, a name taken from the 1987 Pet Shop Boys song, shows us Ritchie (Olly Alexander), Colin (Callum Scott Howells), and Roscoe (Omari Douglas), three young men trying to find themselves in the city, with the help of older mentors like Henry (Neil Patrick Harris), only to find their heady freedoms threatened by the spread of the epidemic.

All five episodes of It's a Sin, from writer Russell T. Davies, drop February 18 on HBO Max.

Andy Hunsaker has a head full of sitcom gags and nerd-genre lore, and can be followed @AndyHunsaker if you're into that sort of thing.
