Karamo Brown, the culture expert on Netflix's Queer Eye, is also an expert at helping people value themselves beyond the standard makeover, and he worked his magic again Thursday on The Drew Barrymore Show, helping a viewer come to terms with her premature baldness due to a weave disaster.
"The fact that you're being vulnerable, you're being honest, and you're sharing your truth is already the first steps of healing, so that you can feel comfortable and confident in walking in your truth," he shared. When she put herself down by saying she had a "peanut head," he stopped her right there.
"That is some messaging that someone gave to you that you started to internalize," he warned, before giving her self-affirmations to practice instead of self-degredations.
With simple warmth and understanding, he managed to instill enough confidence in her that she faces her greatest insecurity on national television and actually removes her wig on air, bringing her to a tearful emotional release.
