Shia LaBeouf has settled a lawsuit with singer and ex-partner FKA twigs, ending the case filed in Los Angeles in 2020.

The case centered on claims of mistreatment during their brief relationship, which lasted less than a year. FKA twigs alleged that LaBeouf had mistreated her in a variety of ways, such as infecting her with an STD, verbally abusing her, physically assaulting her and emotionally abusing her by alienating her well-wishers.

While the exact details of the agreement are kept private, both sides, through their lawyers, have stated that the issue is now settled.

On Monday, FKA twigs asked the court to end her civil case against Shia LaBeouf, closing a fight that began in 2020. The lawyers for both stars, Bryan Freedman for twigs and Shawn Holley for LaBeouf, said that they fixed the issue with a private deal.

No facts of the deal were shared, but both sides sent good thoughts for each other's future lives and jobs.

After the lawsuit was settled, Shia LaBeouf sent an email to The New York Times. He said that some claims were not true, but he did own up to his past acts. He talked about his long years of drinking too much and being too rough.

He confessed to wrongly treating those near to him and felt sorry for it, noting he was ashamed of what he did.

Later, LaBeouf broke off ties with his agency, CAA, and went into a treatment place to work on his personal troubles.
