Oxygen Boosts True Crime Slate With Black Widow Murders and The First Mindhunter

Oxygen is reinforcing its commitment to true crime with five new series about mysterious and macabre stories, all set to debut this fall and winter. In addition, the network has renewed nine true crime shows, including Dick Wolf's Cold Justice and New York Homicide.

New series to the NBCUniversal-owned network include Black Widow Murders, Manifesto of a Serial Killer, and Sleeping with Death. Viewers can also expect The First Mindhunter and Serial Killer Capital: Baton Rouge, both of which are working titles.

Set to premiere in Fall 2022, Black Widow Murders features stories of diabolical women who lure victims to their deaths.

The First Mindhunter (Winter 2022) focuses on the work of Dr. Carlisle, known for his extensive research and interviews with serial killers like Ted Bundy. The episodes will feature unheard recordings in hopes of bringing about new insights into notorious criminals.

Manifesto of a Serial Killer is described as a riveting character-led narrative about how one woman's search for her missing brother led to the discovery of one of the worst serial killers in history. A specific release date was not announced.

Premiering in Fall 2022, Serial Killer Capital: Baton Rouge will cover the murders of 36 women in Baton Rouge within a ten year period throughout the late 1990s to early 2000s.

Also slated for fall is Sleeping with Death, which will recount completely unusual tales of individuals who woke up to find a dead body next to them.

Oxygen also announced the renewal of other true crime series including Living with a Serial Killer, Dick Wolf’s Cold Justice, 911 Crisis Center, Floribama Murders, Accident, Suicide or Murder, The Real Murders of Atlanta, Killer Relationship with Faith Jenkins, New York Homicide and The Real Murders of Orange County.
