This Madcap Teaser Will Get You Pumped for Only Murders in the Building Season 4

Only Murders in the Building's amateur sleuths aren't just leaving the Arconia in Season 4 — they're leaving the East Coast for sunny Los Angeles (guess everybody really is in LA). Season 3, which ended with Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) being shot by a sniper through a window (possibly because they thought she was Charles, played by Steve Martin), set up the foray to Hollywood. Now Hulu's giving us our first look at the new season, which it's dubbed the "starriest" one yet.

The new teaser, released in the midst of Disney's 2024 upfront presentation, is as madcap as you'd expect. Charles, Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) barely catch their breath after solving last season's case before they must look into a crime against one of their own. "You know this is happening. We might as well start," Oliver shrugs. Their investigation isn't the only thing beckoning them to LA, though. A studio, presumably run by the high-powered executive played by Molly Shannon, wants to make a movie based on the in-show podcast, which is all Oliver needs to boost his spirits (that, and probably reuniting with Meryl Streep's Loretta). 

Along with returning regulars Martin, Short, Gomez, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Michael Cyril Leighton, Season 4 will feature Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Zach Galifianakis, Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani, Melissa McCarthy, Richard Kind, and more guest stars. Jane Lynch will feature prominently in the new season, of course; the trip out west won't keep the OMITB team from finding out who shot Sazz and why. Their search in LA just leads them back to New York, where they — gasp — leave their corner of the Arconia to visit the folks in the West Tower. (Somehow, that's more perilous than a city with earthquakes and way too many cars.)
