Netflix has renewed Heartstopper for two more seasons. The series, based on the young adult graphic novel and web comic series of the same name, debuted in April and follows the story of two boys who form a surprising connection and fall in love.

Heartstopper stars Joe Locke as Charlie, a nerdy sophomore who came out as gay the year prior, and Kit Connor as Nick, a "rugby lad" who begins to question his sexuality when his friendship with Charlie turns romantic. The dramedy also stars Yasmin Finney, William Gao, and Olivia Colman as Nick's mother.

Web comic and YA book creator Alice Oseman will return as writer and creator for Seasons 2 and 3.

According to Netflix, "Heartstopper" book sales have gone up by 1700% since the series premiered in April, and Volume 1 is currently the number one YA fiction book in the US.
