Grimsburg hasn't even hit the airwaves yet, but FOX has given it the green light for a second season.

The adult animated comedy stars Jon Hamm as Marvin Flute, "maybe the greatest detective ever to catch a cannibal clown and correctly identify a mid-century modern armoire", and sees him return to Grimsburg, "a town where everyone has a secret or three" to solve the mystery of himself and "redeem himself in the eyes of his fellow detectives, his ferocious ex-wife and his lovably unstable son".

Michael Thorn, Fox Entertainment's president of entertainment, announced that the yet-to-premiere series had already been renewed for a second season. "Grimsburg is yet another clear example of our strong commitment to, and intense focus on, upholding the high bar of standards any show must exceed in order to reside under the Animation Domination banner," said Thorn. "Of course, having Jon Hamm’s talent and star power front and center is a great place to start."

"Equally important, everything we’re seeing with Grimsburg – from the very first scripts and show bible to animatics and preliminary cuts – makes us believe we have a winner on our hands that beautifully complements our animation brand," Thorn continued. Created by Catlan McClelland and Matthew Schlissel, Grimsburg is the second Fox animated series to get an early renewal; Dan Harmon's Krapopolis also picked up an order for Season 2 ahead of its premiere.

Grimsburg does not have a premiere date yet, but it is expected to debut in 2023.
