Actor Charles Siebert has died at the age of 84. Siebert is best known for playing Dr. Stanley Riverside II on all seven seasons of CBS' Trapper John, M.D., which ran from 1979-1986.

Siebert's daughter, Gillian Bozanic, told The Hollywood Reporter the actor died May 1 of COVID-related pneumonia at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center.

In addition to acting in every episode of Trapper John, a spinoff of MASH, Siebert became a director on the series in 1982. He later directed episodes of Knots Landing, Pacific Blue, Silk Stalkings, Pensacola: Wings of Gold, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, and Xena: Warrior Princess.

Siebert also appeared in films including The Other Side of Midnight (1977), Blue Sunshine (1977), and Eight Men Out (1988).

Contributions in Siebert's name can be made to his two favorite organizations, Doctors Without Borders and World Central Kitchen.
