Ludwig, 29, hosted a Beerio Kart event, a fun tournament with a heavy drinking twist, on June 21, 2025. He organized the game to celebrate Mario Kart World's much-awaited introduction on the Switch 2, Dexerto reported.
The game rule was pretty simple. Every participant needed to gulp up their drinks completely before finishing their races. Otherwise, they would have gotten themselves disqualified.
In between the celebrations, Smash Bros player Mang0 was seen visibly intoxicated. That evening, he, in a drunken state, harassed several female streamers. Later, he was cancelled and banned from Twitch.
The host of the event, Ludwig, addressed the unfortunate incident and reflected on the unexpected gestures in a July 1 Twitch stream. During the online stream, he confessed to having a conversation with Mang0 and how he was asked to avoid discussing that evening, as per Dexerto.
As the outlet cited, the American YouTuber said,
"We talked a bit. I have some thoughts and opinions I thought about speaking, but he asked me to not speak on it. I think that’s a fair request. He said, 'I wanna take it on the chin.'"
Speaking candidly about the criticism targeting his Beerio Kart, he disclosed how Mang0 has been handling the consequences and the backlash from netizens. According to Ludwig, the accused streamer has been focusing on avoiding drinking booze and spending all his time with his family members.
He further continued:
"There’s a perception of Mang0 that people have in their mind, but they don’t actually care about him. I don’t think they’ll be in his stream when he’s back to streaming. …it’s not a very genuine pursuit of the people who speak on Mang0’s behalf."
Apart from Mang0, Ludwig continues to get criticized as many accused him of not taking any step against the fellow streamer when he was getting too drunk at an event.
During the July 1 Twitch stream, he also detailed the reason for banning Mang0 from his games. He commented,
"I banned him from my events because I felt I had to, because my girlfriend and my girlfriend’s best friend, Maya, are in my room at 2 AM telling me they felt really uncomfortable at my event. I think a lot of people want me to take accountability. I said my piece on it. And it people don’t f**k with me, that’s totally chill."
Thinking back about Twitch banning Mang0, Ludwig expressed puzzlement about the reason behind the platform barring Mang0 instead of him, and he was the one who hosted the drinking game. While sharing his thoughts, he also put focus on how Mang0 dealt with the incident's outcomes on his own and privately.
Despite many well-renowned internet personalities and streamers participating in the Beerio Kart event on June 21, everyone's eyes were on Mang0 for his insensitive behaviour. He touched multiple women inappropriately while in an inebriated state and harassed them. Clips of his disgusting actions went viral on social media immediately.
His actions caused widespread criticism and an immediate fallout. Twitch banned him, and Cloud9 dropped him by ending an 11-year partnership. However, he was unbanned from Twitch after around a week.
The following day after the infamous event, the gamer apologized on the X (formerly Twitter) platform and wrote several posts reflecting on his unacceptable interactions and gestures with female streamers.

On June 22, Mang0 addressed his actions and penned on X,
"Hate waking up and seeing i was a drunk dumbass"
Admitting his fault, he further penned,
"Don't like using the drunk excuse because its childish but in the moment I think everyone is as drunk as me and thats usually not the case"
The streamer also added that he would ask for forgiveness, further noting,
"I will privately apologize to anyone i made uncomfortable and hope im forgiven"
On June 23, Mang0 acknowledged his mistake in another X post and expressed his thoughts, sharing,
"Think like 99 percent of my problems always stem from drinking so im gonna reevaluate my relationship with alcohol"
He later clarified in his statement:
"Im not downplaying anything I know im dumb and know better. I will accept any consequences that come my way"
The same day, Mang0 looked back on his regretful behaviour and conveyed his feelings in another X post. Sharing that he could not fall asleep, he accepted feeling like he had "let so many people down."

Feel like I let so many people down
Talked to a few friends and just realized I have a problem
Everyone has coddled me for so long and kinda looked the other way when it came to my drinking
Dont want anyone to feel bad for me / defend me
Sorry to everyone…
He got candid and revealed in his X post,
"Talked to a few friends and just realized I have a problem. Everyone has coddled me for so long and kinda looked the other way when it came to my drinking. Dont want anyone to feel bad for me / defend me."
He said sorry to everyone he "let down or hurt." Opening up his heart, he also stated,
"I know it just looks like im trying to save face but I genuinely feel so awful about it.. all I've done is reflect on my life and realized im a broken human. I will try and redeem myself over time as I always do."
The 33-year-old gamer also claimed that he would
"stop drinking immediately and get it together"
Mang0 addressed his inappropriate gestures towards other female streamers at Ludwig's Beerio Kart in an elaborate X post posted on June 25.
I want to start by being real about what happened. I made multiple people feel uncomfortable while drunk at Beerio Kart. There’s no excuse. It was messed up, it hurt people, and I crossed a line. I take full responsibility for it. I’ve already reached out to the people…

Taking accountability for the blunder, he explained,
"I want to start by being real about what happened. I made multiple people feel uncomfortable while drunk at Beerio Kart. There’s no excuse. It was messed up, it hurt people, and I crossed a line. I take full responsibility for it. I’ve already reached out to the people involved to try to make things right."
The internet sensation felt sorry for letting down his son, family, and friends. In his emotional X post, he also penned,
"I also let down my family and close friends. I want to apologize to my son. I know this is something he’ll have to carry. And Joseph, if you ever see this, I’m sorry. I’m going to be better for both of us. When I talked to my mom about everything, I said I was glad my grandma wasn’t around to see this. She passed away recently, and I hadn’t said anything publicly. But saying that out loud to my mom just broke me. I started crying, and I don’t think I’ve done that with her since I was a kid. What hit me hardest was realizing I never took my grandma to see the pope like I always said I would. I kept putting it off to drink or go to events. And now I can’t. That fucking sucks. That regret is going to stay with me."
After all that has happened, Mang0 now aims "to focus on real recovery." Emphasizing his goals, he wrote,
"I've already started researching rehab and will be checking into one when I find the right fit. My relationship with alcohol was always a problem and I just kinda made it my thing, so it was easy to brush a lot of the behavior and comments off. That lifestyle has caught up to me and I need to make a change for the better, and the only way to do that is to move forward and accept that I need to leave the person who I was behind. For the near future, I’m going to take a step back from streaming and social media."
He concluded his message, hoping for positivity and a significant change in her lifestyle. Wishing well for himself, he thanked the readers and wrote,
"Hopefully next time you see me, things are better. No matter how long it takes."
