Montel Williams on briefly dating Kamala Harris two decades ago: "It's not new and it's not news"

Since Harris has been elected vice president, photos have surfaced of her attending a charity event with the former talk show host in 2001. Williams tweeted about the "news" today, pointing out "it's not new and it's not news" while referring to an August 2019 tweet in which he writes: "@KamalaHarris and I briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single. So what? I have great respect for Sen. Harris. I have to wonder if the same stories about her dating history would have been written if she were a male candidate?"
