Joe Biden's ascension to the presidency may get the Showtime movie treatment

Showtime has obtained the rights to The Circus star John Heilemann’s upcoming book on Biden. Heilemann has previously written books on the 2008 and 2012 elections with Mark Halperin. The book on the 2008 election, Game Change, inspired the HBO film on the John McCain-Sarah Palin pairing, also titled Game Change,. An HBO film based on the 2012 election was canceled after Halperin's sexual harassment controversy.
