As Apple's streaming service celebrates its first anniversary this week, Joe Berkowitz argues that it has the brightest future of all the new streaming services. Apple TV+, he says, "is the service whose original content has come closest to establishing an identity—and the one whose future is most promising." Of the five streaming services to launch in the past year, only Apple TV+ and Disney+ look promising in regard to their distinguished original scripted programming. But Disney+'s only true breakout success is The Mandalorian. Yet Apple has The Morning Show, Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet and Ted Lasso, among others, with more potentially buzzworthy shows coming up.
