HBO orders docuseries Small Town News on a privately owned Nevada TV station

The six-part, half-hour Small Town News: KPVM Pahrump, premiering Aug. 2, looks at life at a privately owned TV station in the small desert town of Pahrump, Nevada, 62 miles west of Las Vegas. HBO says the series spotlights a “scrappy, hardworking local news broadcaster looking to expand into a bigger market during challenging times.” KPVM is one of 95 privately owned TV stations in the United States.
