Fox boss says Lee Daniels 'is right": Jussie Smollett won't return to Empire for final season

“Lee is right… no plans for Jussie to return to Empire," Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier said at the TV press tour, echoing Daniels' June tweet that the controversial actor is done with the show. Collier also explained Fox's decision to extend Smollett's option for Season 6: "As much as anything in cases like this… you try to gather all the information, you try to make a good decision at the time." ALSO: Fox is open to an Empire spinoff, or spinoffs.
