Adam Driver to host SNL's Season 44 premiere, joined by musical guest Kanye West

Ahead of tonight's SNL-themed Emmy Awards, the NBC variety show has announced that Driver, fresh off his starring role in BlacKkKlansman, will host the kickoff to Season 44 on Sept. 29. Driver first hosted SNL in January 2016. He'll be joined by musical guest Kanye West, who will perform on the show for the seventh time. It was also revealed today that after two seasons, SNL featured players Mikey Day, Melissa Villaseñor and Alex Moffat will be promoted to the repertory cast for Season 44. Chris Redd and Heidi Gardner, who joined last year, will remain as featured players.
