ABC orders Women of the Movement: Jay-Z and Will Smith to produce anthology series on women in the Civil Rights Movement

The first eight-episode season of Women of the Movement will focus on Emmett Till’s mother, Mamie Till, who devoted her life to seeking justice in her son’s name following his brutal murder in the Jim Crow South. It'll be based on Devery S. Anderson's  book Emmett Till: The Murder That Shocked the World and Propelled the Civil Rights Movement.
