In the current scenario of the daytime soap opera General Hospital, the fan-favorite Maxie Jones has been noticeably absent from recent episodes. Currently, there have been speculations around the whereabouts of the character, but nothing has been confirmed by the official sources. This shift was seen after there was a recast since Kirsten Storms left the show and Nicole Paggi replaced her. 

Kirsten Storms has relocated to Tennessee for a personal project with her daughter Harper. The actress shared the news on Instagram on July 8, 2025, writing:

“I am not leaving, I am taking a break.” 

In her video post, she extended her gratitude to the General Hospital team for allowing time away.

The fictional character Maxie Jones is most notably portrayed by Kirsten Storms, who has been playing the character for nearly two decades. The actress stepped into the role of Maxie in 2005. Recently, she announced her temporary departure from the show. While she is away from Port Charles, the actress is in Tennessee, building a personal project. In the video post shared by the actress on her Instagram on July 8, 2025, she wrote:

“I’m very excited to be making Tennessee my home! I can’t wait to return to GH, once Harper and I are settled in our new town. I plan on documenting as much of this new journey on my social media as I can. It’s always been a dream of mine to move to a place like this, it’s hard to believe it’s really happening. 🥰” 

The actress promises to share glimpses of her time away from the screen and document her time building her new home in Tennessee. In the video, Kirsten shared that she will be seen back on General Hospital between the months of mid-November and early December. Until then, she will be replaced by Nicole Paggi, who has had a temporary replacement of the character before in 2023. However, Kirsten remarked that her storyline is going to be very interesting and she can’t wait for the fans to see it.

The recast of the character of Maxie Jones took place on the July 3, 2025 episode of General Hospital. She was seen at the Quartermaine Mansion, where she was welcomed by Michael Corinthos. Michael thanked her for her help at Daisy's Christening, and they also discussed Kristina Corinthos and the incident that took place at Charlie’s Pub. She was summoned to the Quartermaine Mansion by Brook Lynn Quartermaine to discuss the future of Deception Cosmetics. 

Tracy pointed out that Deception will go deep because of Sonny Corinthos. Further on, General Hospital, BLQ, and Maxie Jones discussed Deception, where Brook Lynn mentioned that Sonny’s investment in the company was with his “dirty money”. The two of them further discussed, and Brook Lynn shared the news about Natalia’s tragic death. Maxie was shocked to hear the news. The two further got into the discussion, where they discussed reporting this to the police.
