Everything that happened on The Young and the Restless on July 23, 2025
Wednesday’s The Young and the Restless opens in the center of the maze, where Victor rejoins a visibly anxious Nikki. He updates her on his failed attempt to follow Carter and expresses concern about Nick and Sharon.
Nikki compares their situation to a life-sized board game, and they agree that Carter behaves oddly, almost like he is programmed.
Victor suspects Carter is tied to Cane Ashby’s schemes, and Nikki concludes they can trust only family. Just then, Kyle arrives and confronts Victor.
He claims he has figured out Audra’s game and accuses Victor of orchestrating a plan to compromise him and ruin his relationship with Claire. Kyle insists he loves Claire and refuses to let Victor interfere.
Victor dismisses his concerns, saying there is a killer among them and he does not care about Kyle’s romance right now.
Kyle insists he and Claire will have a future and move in together, regardless of Victor’s interference. Victor warns him before heading back into the maze.
Kyle questions Nikki’s involvement in the scheme, but she denies any knowledge and says it would devastate Claire if true.
In another part of the maze, Victor runs into Chance. Victor informs him that Cane is holding Nick and Sharon under house arrest. Chance says that is not legal and reveals that Carter claimed he was asleep during Damian’s murder until a guard woke him up, but the guard says otherwise.
Victor believes Carter is lying to protect Cane.
Elsewhere, in Cane’s office, Amanda walks in as Cane reviews surveillance footage of himself with Damian. Amanda warns him not to tamper with evidence.
Cane turns the tables and questions if she is the one who erased the footage to protect someone. Amanda insists she would never do that as it is illegal.
They argue over whether Nick is the killer, with Amanda urging Cane to release Nick and Sharon.
He hesitates and says he needs more time and another conversation with Chance.
Amanda agrees to tell security to release them. In the locked room, Sharon apologizes to Nick for panicking. They share a light moment about Nick’s past haircuts before turning serious again. Sharon believes Cane’s actions are part of a larger plan.
While searching for a way out, they find books, wine, and an old photo album with the name Deleone.
Nick uses wire from a champagne cork to help Sharon pick the lock. Nearby in the maze, Audra and Lily are startled by a noise.
They find Phyllis hiding behind a hedge. Phyllis claims she was eavesdropping to uncover the killer’s identity.
She throws out theories, including Audra having a motive.
Tensions rise as the women debate Cane’s innocence and motives. Phyllis insists Cane is not capable of murder, but Lily remains unconvinced.
The episode closes with Victor and Chance continuing to question Carter’s story. Victor suspects Carter may be willing to kill for Cane, keeping Cane’s hands clean.
Meanwhile, Cane hints to Amanda that if he can use Nick’s detainment to get control of Chancellor, he just might.
