Ksoo's father, Abdul Robinson Sr., testified against his son on Monday (July 28), claiming that his son murdered Charles McCormick Jr. on January 15, 2020, near a Jacksonville shopping center.
Ksoo, whose real name is Hakeem Robinson, and his cousin, Leroy Whitaker, were charged with first-degree murder. Prosecutors suspected that Hakeem and his cousin killed Charles because he dissed Willie Addison, Ksoo's late half-brother, who passed away in a shooting.
Hakeem's father was also a codefendant in the case, as he assisted them in escaping after the incident. On Monday, the fourth day of the trial, Abdul Robinson Sr. was shown the footage of the murder, and he stated that the man shooting Charles was his son.
He also said that he did not know their plans. However, Abdul admitted that he helped his son and Leroy Whitaker burn their clothes, seemingly to get rid of the evidence.
The Instagram page @saycheesetv reuploaded Hakeem's father's testimony. Netizens had a mixed reaction to it, as some defended Abdul Robinson Sr., saying he taught his son accountability, while others stated that he betrayed Ksoo.
"Imagine the betrayal," one netizen wrote.
Some netizens said that the rapper's father taught him accountability, and Hakeem shouldn't have put him in that situation in the first place. One user (@lifesizejaz) noted that if the rapper had killed someone in their family, they would've demanded justice.
They said that if there had been no murder, then Hakeem's father wouldn't have had to testify against him.
Some netizens bashed the rapper's father, saying he betrayed Ksoo.
Netizens continued to slam Abdul Robinson Sr., saying if their father did this to them, they would have started crying on the spot.
When Abdul Robinson Sr. was asked why he identified his son in the video footage, he said that he had many reasons. Abul shared that he has diabetes, high blood pressure, and on June 25, he found out that his kidneys were failing.
He also shared that he wanted to spend time with his young children, as they had requested that he take them fishing and to a father-daughter dance.
"I got two six-year-olds and an eight-year-old daughter. My eight-year-old daughter asked me when I'm going to take her to the daddy-daughter dance. She asked me over the years when I'm going to take her there, and I keep letting her down. And my six-year-old son asked me when I'm going to come to his football games, and come take him fishing," he said.
Abdul Robinson Sr. had taken a plea deal, and for assisting in the murder trial, he would receive a reduced sentence. When Hakeem's attorney asked if his objective was to protect himself, Abdul answered yes.
Abdul could face a maximum 20-year sentence, instead of the 60 years he was previously facing. Ksoo would reportedly get a life sentence, along with his cousin, Leroy Whitaker.
The Jacksonville murder trial will resume on Tuesday (July 29).
