The sequel series Dexter: Resurrection brings the dark and brilliant world of Dexter Morgan back to life—literally. Streaming exclusively on Paramount+ with Showtime, this highly anticipated sequel series picks up ten weeks after the shocking ending of Dexter: New Blood when Dexter was fatally shot by his own son, Harrison. Now emerging from a coma, Dexter relocates to New York City to repair his relationship with Harrison and cover up a deadly mistake he believes his son made.
This season introduces a blend of familiar faces from the original series and intriguing new characters creating a complex and compelling cast for fans new and old.
Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan
The award-winning Michael C. Hall reprises his role as the infamous forensic analyst by day, serial killer by night, Dexter Morgan. Now navigating his third “life,” Dexter is older, perhaps wiser—but just as dangerous.
Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan
Harrison, Dexter’s emotionally conflicted biological son, returns after their dramatic confrontation in New Blood. Played again by Jack Alcott, Harrison now struggles with guilt, identity, and his bond with Dexter, which he both fears and resembles.
David Zayas as Angel Batista
David Zayas returns as Angel Batista, Captain of the Miami Metro Homicide Division, who is suspicious of Dexter’s reappearance and determined to uncover the truth.
James Remar as Harry Morgan
Dexter’s late adoptive father and moral compass reappears as a ghostly figure guiding—or haunting—Dexter’s decisions. James Remar brings back Harry’s stoic intensity and layered presence.
C. S. Lee as Vince Masuka
The eccentric and lovable forensic specialist Vince Masuka returns in a recurring capacity. His quirky humor adds a familiar dynamic to the otherwise dark narrative.
Desmond Harrington as Joey Quinn
Former Miami Metro detective Joey Quinn is also back, drawn into the mystery surrounding Dexter’s return and further complicating the reawakening of old cases.
Additionally, past cast members such as John Lithgow as Arthur Mitchell, Erik King as James Doakes, and Jimmy Smits as Miguel Prado, who were killed off in the original series, will also reappear in a recurring capacity in the crime series Dexter: Resurrection, mostly through flashback scenes.
Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater
A billionaire philanthropist with a hidden fascination for serial killers, Prater assembles a network of murderers—including Dexter—for his own chilling motives.
Uma Thurman as Charley
Prater’s right-hand woman, Charley is a former Special Ops officer who doesn’t flinch at violence and will do anything to protect her boss’s secrets.
Neil Patrick Harris as Lowell
Lowell, aka “The Tattoo Collector,” is a disturbingly meticulous killer who targets women with tattoos. Harris’s turn is as charismatic as it is terrifying.
Krysten Ritter as Mia Lapierre
Known as Lady Vengeance, Mia is a killer with a refined palate—and a blood-soaked side hustle. Her motivations remain mysterious.
Eric Stonestreet as Al Jolly
The so-called Rapunzel Killer, Al strangles victims with their own ponytails, hiding his brutality behind a mild-mannered persona.
David Dastmalchian as Gareth
Dastmalchian plays Gareth, aka the Gemini Killer, known for murdering in pairs—his pattern disturbing enough to inspire fictional accounts within the show.
Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera
Elsa works at the Empire Hotel and quickly bonds with Harrison, unknowingly inserting herself into a dangerous world.
Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace
An NYPD detective, Wallace suspects Dexter’s involvement in recent killings and works tirelessly to track him.
Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva
Wallace’s partner, Oliva, balances her intensity with thoughtful insight. Together, they pose a major threat to Dexter’s fragile new beginning.
