Pirate Software is back to making headlines yet again!

Just days ago, the Twitch streamer stirred buzz online after Billy Mitchell commented on him on X (formerly Twitter). Now, the netizens' attention is back on him as a wave of users continues to unsubscribe rapidly from his channel, fueling yet another round of online discussion.

According to a Dexerto report, his YouTube subscriber count has already dropped by over 100,000.

The significant dip in online support comes at a time when he is already in the news for his comments on the Stop Killing Games campaign.

Everything we know about the decline in Pirate Software's subscriber count

Within two weeks, the streamer recorded a decrease of over 100,000 YouTube subscribers. The sudden and steep follower count drop was initially reported on June 23, 2025.

Recently, Ross Scott, the creator behind the Stop Killing Games movement, uploaded a video titled "The End of Stop Killing Games" on his Accursed Farms channel, further sparking online backlash from internet users. The founder hit back at Pirate for his remarks on the movement in his video.

The Dexerto report confirmed that this was around when Software's channel took a noticeable hit in subscribers. While the streamer, also famously known as Thor, suffers the loss, the petition for the Stop Killing Games initiative recorded over a million signatures.

The outlet cited updates shared by Social Blade. According to the available details, his overall subscribers reduced by around 110,000 users from June 26 to July 9.

On June 26, his channel recorded the highest dip in users unsubscribing, with 20,000 people leaving his channel. The next few days followed a reduction of around 10,000 followers. In the last month, as in 30 days, he lost about 120,000 supporters on YouTube.

On July 4, Pirate Software opened up about receiving alleged death threats. Discussing the Stop Killing Games campaign, he said to the viewers,

"I hope your initiative gets everything that you asked for, but nothing you wanted."

A few days back, on July 5, Billy Mitchell took a direct dig at the streamer and criticized in his X post, expressing,

    "Pirate Software will be sued."

Pirate Software discussed Mitchell's comment of suing him during a live Twitch session of playing Dune: Awakening at that time.

After a viewer made him notice Billy's post during the session, he reacted to it, stating,

"Oh, he’s just insane. Okay, no, he did actually talk about me."

Counting on his legal team to support him if any legal lawsuit comes into action, he further continued,

"I’ll just send it over to my legal team, whatever man. Okay bud, have fun with that s*it."

Billy's recent post targeting Thor left netizens wondering about the reason behind his post. People are uncertain whether he hit out at the online creator for his views on the Stop Killing Games campaign or a completely different matter. Previously, the streamer also revealed getting death threats, swatting reports, and harsh criticism from social media users.
