President Donald Trump recently shared a video of Barack Obama getting arrested and imprisoned. Taking to his Truth Social account on Sunday, July 20, 2025, Trump reposted a clip from a pro-MAGA TikTok user, @neo8171, which has gone viral.

The video begins by showing footage of various Democratic leaders, including the former president, declaring, "No one is above the law." It then segues into Pepe the Frog (an internet meme character) honking its nose before cutting to a sequence of the FBI arresting Obama.

Meanwhile, YMCA by the Village People continues to play in the background. The clip continued to show the former president in prison overalls, sitting behind bars.

Notably, the arrest footage is AI-generated, modifying a clip of his visit to the Oval Office in 2016 during Trump's first term as president. The FBI did not take the former president into custody.

Trump's post comes just days after Tulsi Gabbard claimed that the Obama administration conspired to delegitimize Trump's 2016 election victory.

As the fake arrest video went viral, internet users were left divided. Some called for the former president's incarceration.

"Obama: “No one, especially the president, is above the law!” I couldn’t agree more. Arrest this traitorous fraud," one commented.
"The greatest political scandal in America’s history and the MSM are silent. It’s a war. Arrest (him)," another chimed in.

Meanwhile, others noted that this was a tactic to distract people from the Trump administration's handling of the Epstein files.

"I have 3 things to say about Trump wanting to arrest (him). 1- it’s a distraction to change the news cycle from Trump being a p*dophile! 2- the Supreme Court decided that presidents cannot be charged for anything they did while in office. 3- let’s take a Time Machine to the 90’s,"one wrote.
"Dear MAGA, Threatening to “arrest” (him) doesn’t make Trump’s ties to Epstein go away. Thank you for your attention to this matter," another added.

President Trump went on an online rant calling out Barack Obama and his administration over the weekend

Over the weekend, President Trump shared a series of posts on Truth Social, calling out Barack Obama. This includes accusing him of committing the "highest level" of election fraud and another showing fake mugshots of several officials during the former president's administration, calling them "The Shady Bunch."

In a separate rant, he brought up Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence’s claims that the 44th administration "faked and manipulated intelligence" to push the idea that Russian influence led to Trump's victory in 2016 elections.

He posted about Gabbard's allegations no less than 17 times over the weekend.

It is worth noting that Gabbard released a 114-page declassified report on Friday via her official X account, accusing Obama's national security team officials like James Clapper, CIA Director John Brennan, FBI Director James Comey, and advisor Susan Rice of manufacturing the aforementioned claims.

According to the Daily Beast, Trump continued to normalize the idea of using the Justice Department to go after political rivals.

In addition to sharing the fake mugshots, he also suggested sending Democratic Senator Adam Schiff to prison for his alleged part in undermining his (Trump's) 2016 victory.

In yet another social media tirade over the weekend, the 47th called for sports teams like the Washington Commanders (football) and Cleveland Guardians (baseball) to change back to their previous names, the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Indians.

Notably, the titles faced criticism for being offensive and promoting racial stereotypes.
