The cast of Scrubs hope their iconic characters will reunite one day for a reunion film or special.

During a Scrubs panel at the ATX TV Festival on Sunday, which saw Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, and Neil Flynn discuss their favorite moments from the series, a member of the audience asked the cast what they thought their characters would be doing today. "You're asking me to write the reboot in front of you!" replied series creator Bill Lawrence, per The Hollywood Reporter.

"We're gonna do it, you guys know," Lawrence said of a possible reboot. "If you ever have an excuse to work with people you want to spend time with anyway, run to it."

For the most part, though, everyone in the cast is busy with their own careers. As Faison added, "We all want to work together again, but it wouldn’t be a full season. Maybe a movie, something we could do in two months."

The Scrubs cast has stayed close since the series ended, with Braff and Faison currently hosting a podcast titled "Fake Doctors, Real Friends."

Scrubs aired for nine seasons, from 2001 to 2010, and followed the lives of employees and friends at a teaching hospital. Episodes are currently available to stream on Hulu.
