WATCH: David Beckham Mentors a Struggling Soccer Team in Trailer for Save Our Squad

The decorated athlete returns to his roots in the Disney+ docuseries.
  • David Beckham is returning to his roots to help a struggling youth soccer team.

In the trailer for Disney+ docuseries Save Our Squad with David Beckham, the celebrated athlete ventures back to his stomping grounds of East London to help Westward Boys, a young team facing relegation. To the boys' surprise, Beckham reveals he played in the very same league in his youth, and dedicates himself to improving the struggling team.

"Every one of you has a part to play, every one of you," Beckham tells the boys. The trailer sees Beckham on the field with the players, confessing to them that he was picked last as a kid because of his small size. "It's about who you are as a person outside the game as well," says Beckham. We get a glimpse of one of the boys blocking a shot from Beckham, hinting at the triumphs to come.

"I want the boys to be inspired to be uplifted," says the soccer icon. "I want them to win."

Save Our Squad with David Beckham premieres on Disney+ November 9.
